PV-Tech News:Recently, Polish perovskite solar cell company Saule Technologies (hereinafter referred to as "Saule") has encountered operational difficulties and is on the verge of bankruptcy. Due to the company's increasingly serious financial problems, its co-founder and Vice President Olga Malinkiewicz (hereinafter referred to as "Olga") has resigned, and this is just the beginning.
After resigning, Olga filed a complaint with the Polish National Prosecutor's Office, alleging that the actions of the board members of Saule's investor, an energy company, and the supervisory board members of two Saule companies harmed the company's interests.
The energy company, which holds 18% of Saule's shares, has denied these allegations. However, due to Olga's complaint, two members of Saule's supervisory board with ties to the energy company have resigned in recent weeks, to some extent corroborating Olga's claims.
Public information shows that Olga is a highly influential Polish physicist and entrepreneur in the field of perovskite solar cells. In 2013, while pursuing her doctorate at the University of Valencia, she invented a revolutionary method for manufacturing solar cells by coating perovskite on flexible substrates.
In 2014, Olga co-founded the perovskite solar cell company Saule with Piotr Krych and Artur Kupczunas, and served as the company's CEO.
Subsequently, Olga led Saule to establish partnerships with companies such as Skanska and Egis Group. In 2018, she signed a cooperation agreement with Swedish construction company Skanska and also collaborated with rigid plastic film manufacturer Egis Group on battery encapsulation.
In May 2022, Olga facilitated a partnership between Saule, Google Cloud, and the energy company to advance the application of perovskite photovoltaic technology in IoT and distributed energy.
It can be said that Olga was the soul of Saule, and it was her outstanding personal abilities that made Saule a pioneer in the development and commercialization of flexible perovskite solar cells. However, due to issues with investors and operational difficulties, Olga left Saule.
It is reported that Saule stated that it can no longer cooperate with its existing investors and is willing to negotiate with new partners.
